The final push

Tonight’s the big one..

1 in 50 million have been translating the files on the USB sticks into images which need authorisation over at projectophiuchus.com. Gerry says that the final two are coming tonight. In case you’re unaware, 1in50million are planning to find Rebecca and Martin for us, although we don’t really trust them and their intentions.

Because of this, we need to authorise those files as quickly as possible. If we don’t do it fast enough, there could be major consequences.

Stand by, brains at the ready…and remember, whatever is unlocked after the 6 files are authorised, you need to pass on to me. I’ll work on whatever it is, and pass it back to you guys for opinions. Hopefully we can find Martin and Rebecca together!

Good Luck…I’ll be waiting.

Doing well

Hi guys! Just a quick post to say well done so far. We’ve got 2 out of the 6 files authorised, with one more in progress. I’ve been looking at 002.OPH and it looks simple, but I guess we need to work together. From the sounds of it, we just need a single letter and a single number to unlock it. However, my calculations make 260 combinations. We need to work together to guess this one. Is there a list anywhere of answers we’ve tried? Oh and a quick reminder that if you’re going to sign up multiple times, make sure it’s discrete. They nearly kicked us all out of the system yesterday because someone signed up with loads of similar names.

Gerry says they’ve authorised it internally, which means we’re behind. We can’t let them authorise all 6 files before we do. Who knows what the consequences of being slow might be.

Phase 13

At about 7am today, I noticed that the Project Ophiuchus had been updated. I’m sorry I didn’t have time to let you guys know straight away. The first thing I did was jump on the phone to my technical friend Andy, to see if he could somehow let us gain access to their system.

Andy did a little poking around, and the solution was actually easier that I expected. It seems that someone from 1in50million had already somehow linked their database with Project Ophiuchus’. I don’t know much else, although it means that we’ve all got access since we have a login for the anti-CERN site. I guess they managed to gain access through some vulnerability, or hack.

I’m not going to mention anything to Gerry though, he might be a little suspicious.

So, what now…I guess we need to get all of the files decoded and authorised by more than 10 users. There must be some sort of hidden information unlocked once we’re authorised. Only thing is, can we do it before the guys from 1in50million can?

Cracked!

Gerry just sent me this file. It’s what he managed to decode from Auth_001.oph. I can’t make much sense of it. Perhaps it’ll help us find Martin and Rebecca. Gerry mentioned upscaling the effort that 1in50million are putting in. Something about wishing to divert their full attention to the search and putting their campaign on hold. This makes me more suspiscious about their true intentions.

The old phrase goes: “Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer”

P.S. Don’t bother asking me how the file was decoded. I’m clueless - or stupid?

Hosting…argh!

Well today’s been a bit of a nightmare. No website, no email…nothing.

Can I just say how much hosting companies drive me crazy! So, yeah not had much chance to get anything done today. I’ve briefly spoken to Gerry in the intranet, and he seems to think that the first file will be ready tonight. I know it’s getting late, let’s hope it’s not going to be too long.
